Manukau, Rēkohu Chatham Islands

Manukau is a place sacred to Moriori. It is one of the earliest settlements and the only land left to Moriori in 1870. It is protected by an ecological restoration project to plant 150,000 native trees in order to bring back the birds. It is a place of inspiration and peace. It is open to the public and regularly enjoyed by many.
